The Philosophical Foundation
LucidiTao (明在道) is a formal, axiomatic philosophical framework for understanding reality across all domains. It is not religion, not ideology, not self-help — it is a system of postulates that can be examined, challenged, and refined. The Institute of Lucidity exists to apply this framework to the frontiers of human knowledge.
The Six Foundational Postulates
EP1 — Existence Postulate
Something exists. This is the irreducible starting point — the fact of being, prior to any interpretation or categorization.
EP2 — Consciousness Postulate
Consciousness exists as a fundamental feature of reality. It is not reducible to physical processes alone, nor is it separate from them.
EP3 — Relation Postulate
All things exist in relation. Nothing exists in isolation — understanding emerges from the study of connections, dependencies, and interactions.
EP4 — Structure Postulate
Reality has discernible structure. Patterns, laws, and regularities exist and can be studied systematically through formal methods.
EP5 — Agency Postulate
Conscious beings possess agency — the capacity to act, choose, and shape their engagement with reality. Knowledge without action is incomplete.
EP6 — Finitude Postulate
All knowledge is finite and bounded. Every framework — including this one — is incomplete. We pursue clarity knowing we will never achieve totality.
From Philosophy to Research
Each research program at the Institute derives from these postulates. Prediction markets study how collective knowledge aggregates (EP3, EP4). Finance examines the structural laws governing economic systems (EP4, EP5). AI research explores how artificial intelligence extends — and challenges — human consciousness and agency (EP2, EP5, EP6).
The Corpus: 15 Books, One Framework
LucidiTao is not a single book — it is a framework applied across 15 domains. The main text establishes the six postulates. Each child book applies the framework to a specific discipline, demonstrating that one coherent system of thought can illuminate economics, AI, law, history, probability, aesthetics, and more.
