About the Institute

The Institute of Lucidity is an independent research institute studying prediction markets, finance, and AI through the Lucidosophy philosophical framework. Founded by August Sun in New York.

We apply a postulate-driven framework across our research in prediction markets, finance, and AI, writing books and building tools like LucidMath for formal verification.

Mission

To develop and share the frameworks, works, and methods that keep human judgment central, and make it sharper as AI grows more capable, so that intelligence at scale becomes the ground on which wisdom grows.

What We Value

That the worth of a mind lies not in raw output but in lucidity: the union of pattern, the order that can be formalized and verified, and mystery, what must be lived, risked, and judged. We treat AI as a powerful instrument directed by human purpose, never a substitute for the stakes only a person can hold.

Vision

A world in which every person and institution can think with AI without ceding the one thing machines cannot supply: the lived, accountable judgment of what is worth doing.

August Sun

Founder

Cross-disciplinary researcher and creator of the Lucidosophy philosophical framework. Author of Lucidosophy.

Our Principles

We acknowledge our own cognitive finitude: this is a core postulate of our framework (P6). We welcome criticism and correction. We pursue honesty over correctness. All research is the work and responsibility of the author.

How We Use AI

The Institute uses artificial intelligence as a research tool: for literature review, data analysis, drafting, and exploration. AI does not make our judgments. All conclusions, arguments, and published claims reflect human reasoning and bear human responsibility. When AI assists in producing a work, we say so.

The Institute of Lucidity is an unincorporated research institute operating as a sole proprietorship under the common-law trade name "Institute of Lucidity."
